Phyllis Kreischer is the nurse practitioner for the State Wellness Center. She joined the staff in October, 2016. In that position, she is charged with assessing, diagnosing and treating acutely ill patients.
An Auburn graduate, Kreischer earned her B.S. in Nursing in 1993. She went on to earn a master's in nursing and a certificate as a family nurse practitioner from Troy University in 2008. Her area of specialty is family medicine. She is a member of River Region Advance Practitioners and has served as its treasurer.
Prior to joining the SEIB, she managed three sub-specialty OB/GYN clinics in Montgomery for UAB. She also rounded on hospital in-patients for Montgomery Pulmonary and treated patients at an urgent care. Her diverse nursing background also includes 15 years in a neonatal intensive care unit.
Phyllis and her husband Dave live in Montgomery. Together, they have six children, and four grandchildren. Her family enjoys camping, boating, Auburn football, and vacationing at the beach and at Walt Disney World.
