Harrison School of Pharmacy Career Days 2002-2003 was
a terrific success again this year. The two-day event, on November
11-12, was held at the Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference
Center (http://www.auhcc.com).
Representatives of the 34
pharma- ceutically-oriented companies set up displays in the corridors off
the lobby area and then retired to smaller, conference rooms for
interviews. The event was well attended by Auburn pharmacy students.
They might ask, "What’s not to like?" The atmosphere was upbeat and
colorful, the displays were professional and impressive, the
represent-atives were approachable, knowledgeable and friendly, and lots
of quality freebies and goodies were to be had. And getting down to
business, about 45 students were subsequently interviewed for summer
internships or future jobs. All in all, it was a positive experience for
the School, our soon-to-be graduates, and the presenting companies.
Laurie Kenney Smith, Academic Advisor and Coordinator of Career Days
said, "We thank everyone who came and made the two days such a pleasant
and successful event." Plans are in progress to have the yearly event in
November in the future. She adds, "We look forward to next year."
