7th Annual HSOP Scholarship Golf Tournament A Big Success

ne hundred and four golfers showed up at Moore's Mill Golf Club early on Friday afternoon, Oct. 17th, to have a good time, support a good cause and put in a little practice on their game. The players came to participate in the 7th Annual Harrison School of Pharmacy Scholarship Golf Tournament. Twenty-five pharmacists also registered for the C.E. Program held earlier that morning at the Grove Hill Community Clubhouse.

 

Using a four player scramble format, the winning teams were as follows:

  • The 1st place Net team won an Eagle trophy and an AU picnic back pack.
    Team members: Darrell Craven, Derek Reif (student) and Jim Allen (student)
  • The 2nd place Net team received an HSOP paperweight.
    Team members: Curt Eddy, Brian Sweatt, Steve Sawyer, Tyler Bowen.
  • The 3rd place Net team received a HSOP golf bag watch.
    Team members: Phillip Rigsby, Eric Hinkle, Case McKee (student), Heather Gentry (student)
  • The 1st place Gross team received 4 AU golf head covers each.
    Team members: Lance Wells, Matt Schulz, Jimmy Parish, Kenneth Godwin.
  • And the Last Place team received a $25 gift certificate for golf lessons from Moores Mill Golf Club.

Individual Winners received the following:

  • Longest Drive - Eagle Trophy
    Won by Heather Gentry (one of our students!!)
  • Closest to the Pin - Eagle Trophy
    Won by Britt Enabnit (Rite Aid)
  • Putting Contest Winner - "Auburn Traditions," a framed print from Anders Book Store
    Won by Austin Rumbley with AmerisourceBergen
  • Shortest Drive - Goofie Golfer Trophy
    Won by Tara Smith (4 yards-also one of our students!!!)

Hunter Peak hunterpeak@auburn.edu, Director of Development and Alumni Relations and Tournament Coordinator, reported receiving positive feedback from many participants. HSOP students will be the real benefactors however. The tournament raised approximately $6,000 in scholarship funds. Many people are responsible for making this year's tournament such a success. We couldn’t do it without them. Therefore the School wishes to thank the following:
