on-Traditional
graduates are now becoming a reality. The first person who
graduated from the Non-Traditional program was Minnie Newman. Minnie now
works for Omnicare in Huntsville, AL. The next graduate was
Deborah Mazak Como who is currently a pharmacist at the University of
Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Incidentally, she is the wife of Dr. Jack
Como, Director of the UAB Drug Info Service and a member of the
Alabama Board of Pharmacy. The most recent graduate is Jeanna Boothe. She was a pharmacist at UAB when she started the program,
but she and her husband have
recently purchased a pharmacy . She
is now the owner of "The Pharmacy Boothe" in Madison AL.
Our congratulations to all these forward
thinking, hard working Pharm.D. graduates. The Non-Traditional program,
for those who don't know, allows a working pharmacist to obtain a
Pharm.D. degree while still actively employed.

If all goes well, The Office of Post
Graduate Education will have 2 more graduates in August: Patricia
Funkhauser, who is a professional representative for Johnson & Johnson
and Jeff Hill who is a pharmacist in Scottsboro Alabama.

harmacal Science graduate student, Thirumalini Vaithianathan, was
selected as one of the top 10 graduate students of Auburn University.
Her doctoral work is focused on “Mechanism of Memory Loss in Type I
Diabetes”.Congratulations to Thiru.
