SPECIAL EVENTS
Ball Drop - New Contest at Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, Oct. 5th
Did you ever wonder what's the most entertaining way to raise money benefitting our student pharmacists? Well, how about this. Get a bunch of said students together to play golf with HSOP alumni, faculty and staff (avid golfers all), hire a crane to drop golf balls from the sky and then offer a $500 prize for the ball that lands closest to the hole. Sound like fun? Then don't miss this show-stopping opportunity to raise money for our Student Pharmacists Travel Fund. You just might go home $500 richer. You don't even have to be present to win -- just buy a ticket: $10 each or 3 for $25.

For tickets prior to the Golf Tournament, contact Stacy Negley at 844-8287 or negless@auburn.edu. Out-of-towners mail checks, payable to Auburn University, to: Ball Drop; 2308 Walker Building; Auburn, AL 36849-5501. Quilt Drawing
Brenda Evans, the Dean’s wife, and Louise Barker, wife of Professor Barker, have donated an original AU-inspired quilt to help raise money for the Student Pharmacists Travel Fund. With Christmas just around the corner, this would be perfect for any Auburn fan on your list. The dimensions are approximately 50” x 65” - perfect for a lap robe or a child’s bed, or just to hang as a work of art. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25 and are tax deductible. This beautiful quilt will be on display at the Golf Tournament. The drawing will be on Nov. 24th at the Auburn/Alabama game. See the Quilt's design at the following link. http://www.pharmacy.auburn.edu/news_events/2007-2008/quilt07.pdf

Introducing Our New Development Officer
Jimmy Harris, '68, is now on board as HSOP's new Director of Development and Alumni Relations. He is a graduate of the AU School of Business. A devoted family man, he has been married to his wife Betty, '68, for 38 years. He comes to us after serving as Associate Director of Athletic Development for four years. Before that he was general manager of both Great Southern Wood and Buffalo Rock Pepsi. A thoroughly orange and blue family, Jimmy and Betty's children have followed their lead: daughter Paige, '96, is a manager for AT&T in Atlanta and son Patrick is a senior at Auburn majoring in Marketing and Business. We are happy to have Jimmy on our team, and we know you'll be as impressed with him personally and professionally as we are. We hope you'll have a chance to meet him soon.
