HSOP Student Pharmacists at State Houselabama pharmacists, gathered in Montgomery on Thursday, February 28, 2008 for the annual “Alabama Pharmacy Legislative Day,” an event sponsored by the Alabama Pharmacy Association.

The goal of the event is to provide an opportunity for Alabama pharmacists to learn about important legislation that might impact the practice of pharm-acy in the state of Alabama; allow pharmacists to interface with Alabama legislators and provide input on the pharmacist's and APA position on these bills; and showcase the profession of pharmacy through a health fair.

Distinguished Visitors
The day started with a breakfast meeting which was a social way of assessing the tasks before the team.  First, APA provided a legislative overview to remind everyone of possible upcoming bills regarding pharmacy.  The pharmacists then welcomed Medicaid Commissioner Carol Steckel, Speaker of the House Seth Hammett and Senator Steve French who addressed the group.
