APA Legislative Day, March 26, Montgomery

Alabama pharmacists will gather in Montgomery on Thursday, March 26, 2009 for the annual Alabama Pharmacy Legislative Day. Plans for the day include breakfast with a legislative overview, health screenings at the Alabama State House, and lunch. This annual legislative event provides the APA with a greater opportunity to promote pharmacy in Alabama than any other program. This is your chance to educate our lawmakers about the issues that affect pharmacists, technicians and pharmacies.

Hargreaves Day, April 1
On April 1, HSOP students, faculty, staff, and several sponsors will participate in Hargreaves Day. This event was revived last year by the student pharmacists themselves. It honors beloved Professor George Hargreaves, who was instrumental in building the pharmacy program in its early days and was a mentor to so many. Some of the field games planned for this year include kick ball, wiffle ball, volleyball, pentathlon, tug of war, and ultimate frisbee. We thought you'd get a better idea of how special last year's Hargreaves Day really was when you view the photos/slideshows at this link: http://www.pharmacy.auburn.edu/news_events/2008-2009/hargreaves_day_2008.htm

You Are Invited to HSOP Open House, April 18
The HSOP is hosting an Open House on Saturday, April 18 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and prospective students are invited to attend. Many exciting activities are planned, and Dean Lee Evans will be available that day to answer questions about the latest happenings on campuses in Auburn and Mobile. Building tours and viewing demonstrations will be offered as well. Hope to see you there! We'll remind you of this event nearer to the date by sharing some photos from last year.

Awards Day Ceremony, April 8
The Harrison School of Pharmacy will hold it's annual Awards Day ceremony on April 8. Awards Day is always memorable; a day when the talents, inspiration, hard work, dedication and determination of student pharmacists, faculty, staff, preceptors, and student organizations is rewarded. This year the event will take place in the Flat Auditorium of the Harrison School of Pharmacy.
