Briefly describe innovation :

IPC primarily provides consultation on prescription benefits programs to the payers of health care benefits. The raw claims data is examined and appropriate "action plans" are developed to ensure the most effective health care at the outpatient level. These management plans are monitored on a continual basis by IPC. One focus of consulting is the case management of users of the top 1% of all prescription dollars. This includes patients with asthma, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, and ulcers. IPC works with the physicians to reduce the total prescription costs and increase patient outcomes. An innovative facet of IPC's services is the practice of reviewing individual pharmacies and their staff pharmacists. IPC sets standards of practice for the pharmacists including use of ADR's, DUR's and outcomes management. Pharmacists are graded on merit of performance thus seeking to reward those pharmacists who are the most pro-active in delivering pharmaceutical care.
