Briefly describe innovation
Christine Chatatas is the Assistant Director of the Pharmacy Department at St. Johns Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She has made her pharmacy innovative in that all of her staff pharmacists make rounds with the physicians at the hospital. She also requires that each one of the staff pharmacists participate on various committees throughout the hospital, as well as, attend meetings with Ms. Chatatas so that they can be knowledgeable and involved in the hospital administrative functions. Recently, the hospital had to downsize, and all of the departments had to cut back except the pharmacy. The pharmacy actually gained new pharmacist positions. The reason for this is because of the fact that the physicians at the hopital are now demanding the presence of the pharmacists in order to assist them in drug therapy.
