Certified Addiction Counselor. Marcus Cook is a Pharm. D. who works for the Veterans Affair Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. Aside from his Pharm. D., Mr. Cook also possesses his M.B.A. and is a certified Addictions Counselor. He is founder and director of the Idaho Recovery Assistance Program for Pharmacy. He is also advisory member and co-founder of both the Northwest and Southeastern Pharmacist Recovery Networks. In about six weeks Mr. Cook is scheduled to open a new clinic for addicts and impaired practitioners. Mr. Cook counsels these practitioners and attempts to get them back on the right tract. Also, because of his extensive knowledge concerning addiction, Mr. Cook has lectured at numerous sites across the country on topics in the areas of substance abuse, chemical dependency, codependency, The Pharmacist Recovery Network, dual disorders, psychiatric pharmacy, and depression. Marcus Cook is extremely motivated with respect to educating the public of the hazards of drug and substance abuse. Other responsibilities include: conducting the Inpatient Tardive Dyskinesia Group and Outpatient Tardive Dyskinesia Clinic, conducting ongoing haloperidol, lithium, and fluoxetine Drug Utilization Evaluations. The services that he provides are priceless to the impaired pharmacist who is able to get on the road to recovery.
