Briefly describe innovation
Mr. Hopkins is an administrator at the Colorado Managed Care. This organization operates in the style of many of the new HMO's. The HMO is responsible for a variety of services. These services include, but are not exclusive to claims processing, clinical therapeutics committees, drug utilization reviews and quality control committees. In addition to these services, the HMO, also, offers the traditional services from pharmacies that contract with the HMO. That is, patients can receive pharmaceutical care from any of the specified pharmacies on the HMO's provider list. The HMO currently has roughly 300 to 350 pharmacies on their list of providers. Mr. Hopkins is , also, the incoming president of the Academy of Managed Care in Virginia. ( 1-800- 827-2627) This academy is unique in that it has a student chapter established in Illinois and is looking to expand it's chapters to other universities. This could be a unique opportunity for Auburn.
