Briefly describe innovation

Five full-time pharmacists (including Marty Jones) and two pharmaceutical chemists compose the Pharmacy Consulting Department of the Professional Compounding Centers of America. They respond to more than 250 calls a day from pharmacists needing technical information regarding the preparation of specialty products to meet particular patients' needs. In addition to the consulting service which they provide, the PCCA seeks to provide member pharmacists with equipment, chemicals, and the training needed to provide compounding service within a local community setting.
Prior to joining the PCCA staff, for twelve years Marty Jones ran a retail pharmacy in which compounding was his specialty practice. Such a practice presents a unique opportunity for the development of a close alliance with local physicians in seeking to effect positive therapeutic outcomes. Likewise, it presents a special opportunity to render pharmaceutical care to patients by tailoring medications to their particular needs.
