Briefly describe innovation

McKee has distinguished himself as an innovative practitioner through his efforts in areas related to patient counseling. McKee has served as a speaker for several pharmacy continuing education programs dealing with patient education, participated in the development of a computerized home based compliance program, provided individual patient assessment programs for the Black Hawk Public Health Senior Citizens Center and conducted a weekly radio call-in program for KBBG in Waterloo. He also served as a c onsultant to the Cedar Valley Hospice Center.

In regard to compounding, McKee is recognized as an innovative leader in the development of alternative dosage forms which are needed to address specific patient demands. McKee worked regularly with oncologist and cancer patients, developing medication t reatment plans to deal with the effects of radiation and chemotherapy. Additionally, McKee has pursued innovative solutions for patients with parodontal disease by compounding medications needed by these patients. McKee has also served as a regular gues t lecturer for pharmacy school students at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
