New Hope Drug is thought to be an innovative practice because of their attempts to install a patient monitoring plan. The pharmacist begins by handing out monographs of drug information on all new prescriptions. These monographs not only contain important drug information, but also a section for comments by the patient taking the drug. The patient can write down any concerns or questions he or she may have while taking the drug. At the time of the first refill, the patient will have an option to sit down with the pharmacist. This will give the patient time to express any concerns he or she may have. A file will be started on each patient for future sessions.
