Briefly describe innovation

Utilized a Total Quality Improvement process to redesign the pharmacy facilities and to redesign the work of technicians and pharmacists. The result has been improved efficiency and cost savings through improved inventory control. Distributive functions have been transitioned to technicians allowing pharmacists to work in patient care areas where they deliver patient focused care. This has been accomplished while consolidating pharmacy services between two merged institutions and continues to expand in to ambulatory care, subacute care, home care, and hospice. We provide Diabetic counseling, Coumadin teaching, and Pharmacokinetic dosing service.
