The HSOP's renovation plans involve multiple phases. The Education and Clinic Wing (ECW) has been completed and occupancy was gained in January 2006. This addition consists of 45,000 sf of new construction attached to the Walker building. A new master plan for future facilities requirements was developed in 2007. Construction design and planning is now underway for Phase I in which offices and teaching laboratories on the 1st and 2nd floor will be modified over the summer of 2008. Phase II will add elevators to the facility and improve the north entrance. Phase III will remodel the existing structure to improve research facilities and laboratories. There will be a west tower added that will accommodate needed faculty office space. Construction should start on this addition during the summer 2008 and will take approximately one year to complete. Also included in this phase will be a research and development manufacturing facility in the research park. Additional future needs beyond these phases have been programmed. Stay tuned for updates! |
