All student pharmacists are eligible to participate in the Pharmacy Leadership Forum. This extracurricular program focuses on a yearlong sequence of events and programs designed to enhance student ’s awareness of leadership skills and opportunities.
Program Objectives
Upon completion of the Pharmacy Leadership Forum, each student pharmacist would have:
- Enhanced their awareness of the opportunities to provide leadership within the healthcare system, their individual communities, their families and their own personal life,
- Developed life-long habits related to the application of leadership skills and abilities within their professional and personal life,
- Developed a better personal awareness of self,
- Enhanced their personal communication skills and self confidence as well as their abilities to solve community problems by participating within small work groups, and
- Established a professional network to enhance the accomplishments of their professional and personal goals
Program Significance
Leadership development does not take place in a day, but requires an extended period of time to create thoughts and habits that will significantly enable individuals to make a difference in their own lives, their profession, and in their communities. In fact, leadership development continues throughout an individual’s entire life. This is the only program of its type affiliated with a School or College of Pharmacy in the United States.
