The Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) was founded in 1972 on the campus of Florida A&M University as the student affiliate of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA). SNPhA is an educational service association of pharmacy students who are concerned about pharmacy and healthcare related issues, and the poor representation of diversity in pharmacy and other health-related professions. The Auburn chapter was created and received its charter in 1991.

The purpose of SNPhA is to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute programs geared toward the improvement of the health, education and social environment of the community. SNPhA pledges to work with other organizations and public agencies in the pursuit of charitable and educational objectives. SNPhA offers numerous benefits such as:

  1. Leadership and Organizational Skills

  2. Communication Skills

  3. Professional Contacts

  4. Support Group Network

In addition, a regional and national convention is held annually in different cities in the U.S. It allows members to participate in educational and career development programs, establish social and professional ties with other students, and aid in the formulation of national SNPhA policy.
