The James I Harrison School of Pharmacy is proud to be a part of the Auburn University family. Situated in east central Alabama, Auburn University is not only the largest university in the state of Alabama, but is consistently the highest ranked university according to U.S. News and World Report. For the 2002-2003 academic year, the magazine ranked Auburn 43rd among the nation’s top public universities. This is the 10th consecutive year that Auburn has been ranked among the nation’s finest public universities.

In addition to academic excellence, Auburn is also known throughout the country, indeed—even the world, for its strong athletic tradition. A sunny fall Saturday will find 85,000 Auburn football fans roaring "WAR EAGLE!" as Spirit, our eagle mascot, swoops down from the upper deck of Jordan Hare Stadium and lands on the AU logo at the center of the field. Auburn also boasts a nationally recognized swimming and diving team (the women’s team is the 2002 NCAA Champion) as well as excellent programs in baseball, softball, soccer, gymnastics and basketball.

Students, faculty, staff, and alumni frequently talk about the family atmosphere on Auburn’s campus. Students quickly feel at home on both our campus and in the surrounding community. The Harrison School of Pharmacy is no exception. Our curriculum is demanding, but the rewards are great. Our graduates are trained to offer the highest level of patient care in both community and institutional practice sites. That is our finest tradition.

Thus, our motto, "Caring is the Core of our Curriculum" is more than just a slogan, it is the foundation of our pharmacy training.
