Keyi Liu is from Beijing, China where she studied at the Capital Medical University, earning a degree in pharmaceutics. Prior to coming to Auburn, she participated in an exchange program with National Taiwan University majoring in Pharmacy, which inspired her to come to the United States to study.
Her research has focused on biosynthesis of alpha-amyrin, beta-amyrin and friedelin, using gene-directed mutagengesis, saccharomyces cerevisiae as a bottom bacterium to synthesis and extract her aim product.
