Harrison College of Pharmacy Camp

June 4-9, 2023

Open to Rising High School 11th and 12th Graders and Rising College Freshmen

The Harrison College of Pharmacy, in partnership with Auburn Youth Programs, invites rising high school 11th and 12th grade students as well as rising college freshman who are interested in pharmacy to participate in this unique opportunity.

This hands-on experience will allow campers to explore the profession through various learning experiences. The camp is led by rising second- and third-year pharmacy students and facilitated by pharmacy faculty. Our goal is to familiarize students with the pharmacy profession and the many opportunities available in this field!

Two Options Available: Auburn and Mobile

Those interested in pharmacy camp have two options available for the week with the same great experience. An overnight camp is available on the Auburn Campus while a day camp experience is available on the Mobile Campus.

  • Throughout the week campers will learn the preparation necessary to enter a professional school of pharmacy as well as experience first-hand the various duties and responsibilities practicing pharmacists encounter on a daily basis.
  • These activities will range from compounding lotions and gels, learning how to take blood pressure, checking blood glucose, team work, and patient counseling skills.
  • Campers will also be able to work side-by-side with current pharmacy students, learning what it takes to succeed navigating a pharmacy curriculum.
  • In addition, campers will also explore the various opportunities within the pharmacy profession by talking with and observing pharmacists working within a variety of health-care settings in both the community and hospital.
