Dr. Courtney McDonald is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She joined the HCOP faculty in July 2026.
Dr. McDonald earned her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University in 2016 and completed her PharmD from the Harrison College of Pharmacy in 2020. She went on to complete a PGY-1 residency at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown in Columbus, Georgia in 2021 and stayed on to complete a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care residency in 2022.
Prior to joining the HCOP faculty, she was a Specialty Clinical Pharmacist in the John B. Amos Cancer Center in Columbus, Georgia and she still maintains a practice at the site. Dr. McDonald’s practice and research areas center around targeted oral oncolytic therapies.
Dr. McDonald is active in the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP), Network for Collaborative Oncology Development and Advancement (NCODA), and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).
Dr. McDonald maintains a clinical practice site at the Piedmont John B. Amos Cancer Center located in Columbus, GA. The John B. Amos Cancer Center offers comprehensive, multi-disciplinary oncology care to 14 counties around Columbus. Dr. McDonald works collaboratively with oncologists to initiate and manage patient chemotherapy regimens and side effect management. She precepts students for Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences at the site.
