Lena D. McDowell is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department Pharmacy Practice and the Coordinator of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) in the Clinical Affairs and Outreach Division at the Harrison School of Pharmacy. Her role as Coordinator of IPPE includes the Student Experiences in Pharmacy Services (StEPS) Program and community, institutional, and clinical summer rotation experiences. Additionally, she serves as an ambulatory care clinician in the AU Employee Pharmacy. Dr. McDowell joined the Auburn faculty in August of 2017.

A native of Snowdoun, Alabama, McDowell received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2010 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2016 from Auburn University. She went on to complete at PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy during the 2016-17 academic year.

An active member of the Alabama Pharmacy Association (APA) and American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), her areas of focus include experiential education and comprehensive medication management, specifically medication adherence.
