Bio


Mustapha Abubakar is a Ph.D. student in Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducting research in the Department of Health Outcomes Research and Policy (HORP) at the Harrison College of Pharmacy. After earning a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, Abubakar enlisted into military service, where he served in clinical positions within the Medical Services Branch of the Nigerian Air Force.

He holds a Masters of Science in Epidemiology from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. Prior to joining the HORP program, he volunteered as a Research Scientist with the Person-Centered HIV Research Team, a Nigerian research organisation focused on HIV Epidemiology. Currently, Mustapha’s interest is conducting population health research on the topics of cardiovascular disease among vulnerable populations.
