Laptop Requirement
Incoming Students
HCOP Students are required to have a laptop for the duration of their time as a student as they are used for exams and assignments.
Current minimum laptop requirements for HCOP’s laptop policy [PDF] are reviewed yearly and updates published as needed. Our academic environment only supports Mac and Windows operating systems. If you need addition clarification, please contact HCOP IT via hcopoit@auburn.edu.
Minimum Laptop Requirements
For Windows
- Operating System: Windows 11
- Microsoft Office 365 (Provided to AU enrolled students)
- Processor: 64-bit Intel Core i5 or higher
- RAM: 16 GB or higher
- Storage: 250 GB SSD or higher
- Camera and Microphone (integrated or separate component)
- HDMI or USB-C display ports
- Install Palo Alto GlobalProtect (VPN Client) from AU Install website
For Apple/Mac
- Operating System: Mac OS12 (Monterey) or newer
- Microsoft Office 365 (Provided to AU enrolled students)
- Processor: M1 or higher
- RAM: 8 GB or higher
- Storage: 250 GB SSD or higher
- Camera and Microphone (integrated or separate component)
- HDMI or USB-C display ports
- Install Palo Alto GlobalProtect (VPN Client) from AU Install website
