AUBURN, Alabama - Five Harrison College of Pharmacy faculty members were recently awarded promotion or tenure, recognizing their outstanding efforts within the college. The new appointments will begin on Aug. 1, coinciding with the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year.

"I am thrilled to recognize and congratulate our outstanding faculty members who have achieved tenure or earned promotion," said Leigh Ann Ross, dean of the Harrison College of Pharmacy. "This important milestone marks a pivotal point in their careers and is a testament to their exceptional dedication to academic excellence, scholarly work and teaching."

All five are within the college’s Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Lindsey Hohmann and Dr. Natalie Hohmann were promoted to associate professor with tenure. Dr. Allison Chung, Dr. Haley Phillippee and Dr. Nathan Pinner were promoted to clinical professor.

Chung has been a faculty member with HCOP since 2002 and has been a part of the Mobile campus since its inception. In addition, Chung conducts research on the use of probiotic and vitamin D use in critically ill pediatric patients.

Lindsey Hohmann graduated from HCOP with a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science, pursuing the health outcomes research and policy option, in 2019 and immediately joined as an assistant professor. Her area of expertise is implementation science, focusing on opioid and substance misuse prevention strategies in community pharmacy settings.

Her research centers on decision science with an emphasis on health communication, focusing on dementia caregiving and preventive healthcare for older adults.

Phillippe practices at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine Family Medicine Center in Huntsville, specializing in geriatrics, high-risk medication management, and substance use disorders. Board-certified in geriatrics and a pharmacotherapy specialist, she provides chronic disease management, to patients of all ages. She actively educates medical residents, medical students, pharmacy residents, and pharmacy students. Phillippe is also a founding member of HCOP’s  Center for Opioid Research, Education, and Outreach (COACH).

Dedicated to the education of all levels of pharmacy and medical professionals, Pinner is particularly interested in the treatment of pulmonary conditions and the impact of kidney disease and obesity on medication dosing in hospitalized patients.

“At the Harrison College of Pharmacy, we are defining what it means to be a pharmacist for a new generation and that starts with our faculty,” said Ross. “These faculty members are experts in their disciplines and respected leaders among their peers.
